Dow and SCGC to convert plastic waste into circular products in Asia Pacific

The circularity partnership is intended to create an effective platform for plastic recycling in the region by using mechanical and advanced methods Dow and SCG Chemicals (SCGC) have forged a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to transform 200 kilo tonnes per annum (KTA) of plastic waste into circular products by 2030 in the Asia Pacific region.
Both companies plan to expedite development of technology across the value chain. This is expected in facilitating recycling through mechanical (MR) and advanced (AR) methods to convert a variety of plastic waste into valuable applications.
The initial steps of the partnership involve setting up a value growth partnership for post-consumer recycled materials (PCR) with existing suppliers. Also a part of these is the inclusion of new technology solutions for waste sorting, MR, and AR in Thailand.
